Who can apply for the program?
The SASP is aimed at college undergraduates between their junior and senior years. STScI is able to accept exceptional students in earlier years and beginning graduate students. If you think you would benefit from our program, you are encouraged to apply.
The program is open to students from the US and other countries, with preference to the above categories.
The Space Astronomy Summer Program provides students a fun, educational experience within a team-spirited environment. Students will receive a $650 weekly stipend, housing assistance, and travel to and from Baltimore. To find out more about the program visit:

Applications will be received from January 1st through January 31, 2018. The application deadline is Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
Reference letters are due by Friday, February 9, 2018. Details regarding submission of reference letters are automatically sent via e-mail to the letter writers once their contact information has been submitted in the application.
