The Opportunity

Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for a Business Technology Business Partner to support our retail, sales, store operations and e-Commerce organizations. This role is responsible for partnering with the organizations it supports to vision the technology strategy and roadmap that enables business capabilities, and working cross functionally to plan and execute on the projects.

Position Summary

The Business Technology Business Partner owns the strategic technology relationship across our Retail, Sales, and Store Operations organizations. They are responsible for visioning the technology strategy that will enable the business capabilities required to achieve our short and long-term strategic plans. Partnering closely with the business, the Business Partner will act as the "Voice of the Customer", developing a rolling, multi-year technology vision that includes enabling new capabilities all the way to managing day to day operations of existing systems. As investment opportunities emerge, the Business Partner will work to create the business case and steward the investment through the capital planning approval process.

Turning towards execution, the Business Partner will play an active role in planning and mobilizing the cross-functional teams to execute specific projects. Leveraging agile development principles, the Business Partner will be responsible for defining epics, writing features and directing the creation of stories that will be picked up by various teams. In addition, the Business Partner will actively groom the backlog, provide clarity to questions raised from development teams, and clearly communicate priorities. Finally, Business Partners will work with Project Managers manage their project's scope, schedule, budget, issues and risks.
Requirements Experience, Knowledge and Abilities

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of ten years of technology, retail, manufacturing or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience and 5 years of experience developing strategic plans and executing projects; Experience in identifying potential technology partners, negotiating agreements, and managing the ongoing vendor relationship; Experience in Scaled Agile Framework.
Certification in PMP, Scrum Master or Scaled Agile Framework desired

Candidates must have the ability to establish rapport, credibility and influence in a highly cross-functional, matrixed organization; Successfully influence multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams; Skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes at all levels; Proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership and driving results; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - work prioritization planning, task delegation, budget setting and management, stakeholder management, and coordination across multiple teams; Proven ability in modern best practices of agile development - can articulate epics, features and stores; Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
