Red Wing Shoe Company, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Senior Designer, Men’s Product at our offices in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Senior Designer, Men’s Product is responsible for formulating design concepts and researching Red Wing Shoe’s product and brand history, as well as for having an intimate understanding of our consumer base globally to design new styles of footwear that align our brand DNA with market needs.
Requirements This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Visual Communication and Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or a related field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience in creative footwear design. Must also have 36 months of demonstrated ability (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) Market research, trend analysis, and Merchandising collaboration which involved identifying key seasonal details and overall product line direction; (2) new product development that shows innovation in footwear construction and materials; (3) hand sketching and computer rendering experience to create conceptualized designs, interpreting feedback provided by merchants and product developers; (4) developing footwear tech packs, to include specifications for leather, eyelets, lacing, sole and heal materials, proportions, ratios, measurements, and thickness; and (5) creating viable prototypes for Product Development Lifecycle Stages.
