Summary: Under general supervision operates equipment on paint line in the manufacturing area. This includes the following subareas: Loading, Unloading, Painting, and Pre-Treatment. Loaders would be responsible for all phases of part preparation, such as masking and plugging. The Pre-Treatment/ Blast Operator is responsible for following prescribed pre-treatment (i.e. shot blast and/or washer). Painters are responsible for the application of the proper paint and to monitor correct masking and substrate issues. Unloaders are responsible for line off-loading and packaging of finished parts.

Must be able to load and unload parts from the paint line, be attentive to details for quality purposes, and be able to lift 50lbs and know basic use of the computer.

Essential Functions:
All Operators will need to:
1. Focus on safety to ensure safe practices for all Team Members in all areas.
2. Maintaining a clean work environment is essential.
3. Build a strong team environment.
4. Clear communication both written and verbal.
5. Operate computer.
6. Receptive to Team Member suggestions.
7. Prepared to respond to schedule priority changes.
8. Report all concerns to the Supervisor.
9. Align with the other Techs to allocate resources to respond to fluctuating labor requirements in the department.
10. Dedicated focus on preventative maintenance on all equipment.
11. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times is essential.

Load Operator:
1. Attentiveness to Detail in all aspects of loading the line.
2. Knowledgeable regarding correct racking and hooks for scheduled jobs.
3. Knowledgeable regarding correct masking requirements
4. Willing to fill in to get the job done in all areas of the department.

Unload Operator:
1. Uses required packaging materials and containers for jobs coming off the line.
2. Return masking supplies to proper locations as removed from parts.
3. Obtain supplies for the current job off-loading.
4. Utilize proper racking storage for racks being removed from the line.
5. Willing to fill in to get the job done in all areas of the department.


Powder Room Operator:
1. Perform daily work in order of scheduled priority.
2. Look for problems before coating (missing masking, substrate issues)
3. Eager to become proficient in all aspects of equipment and systems used in coating.
4. Willing to fill in to get the job done in all areas of the department.

Wheel-a-Brator/Pre-Treatment Operator:
1. Meticulous in recording data involving processes and daily operation.
2. Total awareness of all Chemistry involved in the Pre-Treatment process. (Training will be provided)
3. Ensure jobs are processed correctly: Blast/no blast, Primer only, Primer and Top Coat, Top Coat only.
4. Willing to fill in to get the job done in all areas of the department.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience and Skills Required:
Recent mechanical and shop experience that includes the following skills and abilities would be beneficial:
1. Some knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in the production process.
2. Some knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions
3. Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
5. Must have average math skills and mechanical ability.
