Summary: Serve as main quality contact person in regards to part acceptability and works directly with production, sales and engineering to meet customer expectations. Respond to calls from production, sales, engineering and the customer to resolve issues regarding product quality. Leads or assists BTD departments in problem solving and corrective actions. Is a resource to train and improve operator awareness in regards to achieving customer quality expectations and requirements. Communicates all improvements made to ensure future estimates and processing plans of current product are accurate. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety. Essential Functions: 1. Provides suitable options to leadership that ensure BTD quality reputation and cost control when questions or concerns are brought up in regard to part quality and customer expectations. 2. Participates in design review process to ensure manufacturability of new products; reviews prints, customer specifications, and solid model if provided. 3. Gives guidance to quality auditors and inspectors to answer questions regarding quality for specific customers and is able to perform inspection of products to confirm status of suspect material. 4. Maintains familiarity with customer’s specifications, part application, inspection methods, production processes and all other factors affecting the production of the customer’s parts. 5. Identifies weaknesses in processes that negatively affect part quality and contributes ideas for corrective action. 6. Helps educate operators on aspects that contribute to producing quality parts (Examples: inspection techniques, reading prints and control plans, understanding customer subjective requirements). 7. Responsible for leading or participating in corrective action process; leads containment activity and works cooperatively with responsible area to ensure appropriate corrective actions implemented; ensures customer relationship and BTD image not adversely affected from quality spill. 8. Works closely with ME to assure that process is capable of producing a quality product that meets the customer’s requirements; assures process changes made to improve quality do not negatively affect productivity. 9. Promotes safe work environment, conducts self within company mission, vision and values. 10. Complies with BTD’s management system and processes. 11. Contributes to the creation of the process flow diagram, PFMEA, and control plan as required for PPAP submission; assists in development of setup and operator instructions. 12. Performs audits to validate adherence to BTD management system; assists with developing appropriate corrective actions. 13. Performs other work related duties as requested. "Z"


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school or equivalent and two or four year technical college or university with degree or certificate in a technical field with a minimum two (2) years directly related experience; six (6) years directly related experience may substitute for advanced degree. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Experience and Skills Required: At least two years of recent BTD experience in operations, manufacturing engineering or quality (outside experience in similar organizations with similar processes may substitute) which include the following skills and abilities: 1. Ability to effectively communicate with computer, phone, drawings and written skills. 2. Strong project management skills in driving customer quality expectations across all of BTD. 3. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices in use of productions quality assurance operations at BTD. 4. Strong working knowledge of the BTD management processes and procedures system and the ability to enforce company standards. 5. Ability to read, interpret and understand the use and application of production blueprints and specifications. 6. Can provide, communicate and implement ideas that improve safety, quality, delivery and cost in part processing. 7. Adhere to BTD’s employee safety manual. 8. Ability to establish, encourage and maintain effective working relationships with others.
