Title Design Engineer II

Description POSITION SUMMARY:

The Design Engineer II is responsible for the development of new designs and improvement of older designs in order to expand company product line and capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop conceptual designs including new structural and hydraulic systems.
• Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
• Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
• Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
• Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
• Plans and develops experimental test programs.
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
• Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. This will include Inventor, AutoCAD, and ANSYS.
• Provide technical sales support to sales representatives, contract administrators, project managers and engineers.
• Provide technical customer support.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical support to customers.
• Work in a team environment with drafting department on special design projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years experience in a design engineering role related to heavy equipment.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
• Advanced mathematical capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Prolonged sitting
• Moderate bending
• Some travel required
