The Vendor Management Specialist will partner with companies that supply products and services to NCM.  This position will evaluate, negotiate and collaborate with vendors, explain NCM’s expectations and standards and create purchase orders.  This position will process invoices and coordinate expense tracking.  Working alongside team members in support of our company strategies and Living the NCM values. 

Functional Area Responsibilities:

  • Support the NCM Procurement function
    • Primary liaison for select vendors and suppliers; nurturing and growing the vendor relationships through internal standards
    • Oversee the negotiation process with vendors for new items
    • Creation and verification of purchase orders
    • Ensure order acknowledgements are received and executed
    • Invoice processing and accrual reconciliation for IT Ops & Field Ops
    • Maintain shared email box for all purchasing and vendor inquiries and correspondence
    • Track and coordinate annual software renewals
    • Support hardware needs with inventory tracking and order placement
    • Coordinate wireless accounts; invoicing, usage, and cost management
    • Investigate and resolve vendor invoice discrepancies
    • Maintain vendor price lists
    • Monitor products for End of Life status
    • Maintain procurement reporting requirements in relation to performance analysis
    • Responsible for monthly department expense tracking and cost analysis
  • Participate in projects and initiatives in support of the IT Operations department

Knowledge of/Skilled in/Ability to:

  • Working knowledge of vendor management, purchasing and procurement
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including expense and budget management
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain deadlines
  • Interact professionally with all levels of personnel, both internal & external customers
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communications
  • Attention to detail with excellent follow-up
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel - intermediate to advanced level
  • Experience working with Purchasing modules in Dynamics AX

Experience and Training:

Any combination of the following experience and training (designated as required and/or preferred) that would provide the required knowledge and abilities in qualifying. 

Experience:  1+ Years in purchasing, vendor management, communications and/or customer service

Education: BS/BA preferred or equivalent applicable experience
