Description Summary The Coremaker Trainee is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, counting and boxing cores as instructed. Must perform visual inspection of cores, reporting any irregularities to the supervisor, operators, or setup people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.
1.Cleaning, inspecting, counting, and boxing cores as instructed.
2.Visual inspection of cores, reporting any irregularities.
3.Good hand/eye coordination.
4.Good manual dexterity.
5.Must be able to perform repeated bending and lifting.
6.Maintain cleanliness of work area in prescribed manner.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Standing or walking 100% of shift. Frequently bending and lifting up to 30 pounds unassisted. Must perform continuous visual inspection of cores for irregularities during shift.
