||Summary The Material Handler I is responsible for retrieving materials for use in the Machine Shop Cell, (castings, tubs, skids, etc.) to service machines. Other primary responsibilities include operating Parts Washer, Chip Processing, and Bar Stock Control.
Must be capable of operating all the equipment (lift trucks, elevators, scales, parts washer and chip processor) to perform the job and the general clean up of the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.
1.Requires operation of lift trucks, scales, parts washer and chip processor.
2.Must have average mathematical skills.
3.Must be able to work at up to 10 foot heights.
4.Requires attention to detail.
5.Must possess good organizational skills and good communication skills.
6.Must be able to handle fast paced enviornment.
7.Maintain cleanliness in a prescribed manner.
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Stand or walk 100% of shift. Frequent bending and lifting up to 30 lb. unassisted several times during shift. Must have average manual dexterity. Ability to bend, climb, crawl, push and pull frequently during shift. Ability to work at up to 10 foot altitudes.
