Description Position Objective: Develop programs to control machining of parts by CNC machine tools. As a CNC Programmer, you would be responsible for the programming of 2 to 11 axis machines using Esprit Cad Cam program and by manual entry of code on the machine tool or by use of an editor. The programming of Swiss Screw Machines, Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers and Vertical and Horizontal Turning Centers.

Essential Functions May Include:
• Fixture design & cutter selection
• Acting as a liaison for engineers and CNC machine operators to ensure a high quality product
• Revising programs to eliminate errors and re-testing programs to ensure problem resolution
• Analyzing engineering instructions, drawings, blueprints, specifications and design data to calculate dimensions and machine speeds and feeds
• Observe and perform first time runs to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly to produce product that meet print specifications
• Perform program compare to ensure no deviations were made to affect product no meeting specifications, verify accuracy of instructions or documentation
• Prepare part program tooling layouts
• Writing programs and storing programs on DNC system or other digital devices
• Modifying existing programs to improve efficiency, tool life and quality of product
• Work with production on set up & prove out
• Training of shop personnel
Requirements Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Strong machining background preferred
• 3 years’ experience programming CNC milling and turning of various metals preferred
• Computer knowledge, 3D Cam Model software
• Esprit Cad Cam preferred
• Works with little or no supervision
• Proficiency in computer programs
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must have understanding of the methods required to program CNC milling and turning
• Ability to perform standard machining calculations, angles, radius, arcs, speed, feed, etc.
• Must understand and have ability to apply geometric tolerances and be proficient with complicated blueprint interpretations
• Ability to meet production schedules and deadlines as needed
