Description Summary Performs safety and health activities to evaluate and control environmental hazards by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.



Coordinates Lead Program, including conducting respirator fit tests.
Coordinates Hearing Conservation Program, including audiograms
Trains employees on safety and health requirements to ensure compliance with regulations.
Enforces use of safety equipment.
Investigates accidents and prepares accident reports.
Identifies potential causes for accidents and recommends changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness.
Administrator of Worker's Compensation program
Coordinates MSDS and Lockout Tagout

Safety Record Keeping including OSHA log

Assist in ISO 14001,

Assist in Hazardous Waste Management

Coordinates Security including Employee Badges and Lockers

Coordinates Fire Protection including inspections

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
