East Chicago Urban Enterprise Academy (ECUEA) is a public CHARTER school servicing K-8th grade students in Northwest Indiana. Licensed/certified teachers preferred! Applicants must be creative, have high energy, have excellent classroom management skills, be performance driven and know how to use data to drive instruction.

Must qualify to be appropriately licensed by the State of Indiana to teach at the elementary school level.
Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education.
An expanded criminal history background check will be conducted.
The candidate must demonstrate effective organizational, interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written skills.
The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with ECUEA/TLG policy. We are looking for a teacher who has a genuine LOVE for children and learning. The teacher must be able to differentiate instruction and use data to drive that instruction.

A highly-qualified candidate:

Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Uses and analyzes data to drive instruction
Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools.
Demonstrates gains in student performance.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, collaborating with colleagues.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $36,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year

*Demonstrated commitment to young people’s learning success and achievement.
*Demonstrated proficiency in a teaching/tutoring capacity as acquired through prior experience in tutoring, teaching or other education-related experience; evidence of successful experience in student and parent relations.
