Title Human Resources Liaison

Description The Human Resources Liaison is responsible for ensuring appropriate recruiting, hiring and onboarding practices are followed with hiring the seasonal workforce for our operations department. This role is responsible for maintaining employee relations and addressing employee concerns as they arise. Assist with office related duties associated with payroll, purchasing and general administration. This position requires the Human Resources Liaison to be available days, evenings and weekends during the operation season and this position reports to the Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directly interface with Operations Manager on issues related to employee benefits, campus life and morale.
• Responsible for all personnel matter, which includes employee recruitment, hiring, discipline, coaching, termination and seasonal lay off activities.
• Conduct prompt and thorough investigations regarding employee issues and complaints.
• Conduct supervisor training and coaching.
• Work with supervisors in terms of effective employee leadership and evaluations.
• Ensure that the vessel is in full compliance with all local, State, Federal and Icicle Seafoods policy in regards to Human Resources guidelines.
• Supervise maintenance of appropriate personnel, medical and employee investigation records.
• Learns, supports, and adheres to all Icicle rules, policies and practices.
• Interacts professionally with employees, visitors and guests.
• Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements Requirements Experience and requirements:

• 5 years' experience in human resources or employee relations.
• Previous seafood production experience is preferred.
• Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
• Solid computer skills with MS Office.
• Previous experience overseeing food service and employee accommodations.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to work cooperatively within all levels of a company as well as other site department managers to maintain a team like atmosphere.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
• Prompt, reliable and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Able to work well under pressure, 12 or more hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Must be able to live and work in confined quarters.
• Must be able to live and work in remote Alaska.

Work Schedule:

• This position will be based at an operations location in remote Alaska for 3-4 months per year; estimated to be June-September. While working in Alaska, the work schedule requires long hours, up to 16-hours per day and 7 days per week.

Work Environment:

• Room, board and transportation to work location are provided.
