Title Traffic/Logistics Specialist

Description The Traffic Specialist arranges the shipment and distribution of seafood products within the domestic and foreign markets. Effectively handles individual work to meet goals while also performing as part of a collaborative team to accomplish the overall Traffic Department tasks and goals. Works closely with internal sales department, customers, brokers, warehouses and freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of goods to the marketplace. Due to the seasonal nature of the seafood industry, this position may require the availability to work extended hours during peak seasons. This position is non-exempt (paid for overtime) and reports to the Traffic Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Arranges and coordinates shipments of canned, frozen and fresh seafood products within the domestic and foreign markets.
• Works with sales, customers, brokers, warehouses and freight forwarders, prepare necessary documentation and to address opportunities and challenges.
• Provides traffic support to the sales team.
• Enters and processes orders, completing all necessary documentation and paperwork related to sales and shipments. Invoices customer.
• Assists with the backup and training of members of the Traffic Department.
• Works with the accounting and inventory departments to resolve payment and warehouse discrepancies.
• Defines, documents and assists with the streamlining of traffic procedures to maximize efficiency and profitability.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience in commodity trafficking and all modes of transportation (surface and air).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Previous seafood industry experience recommended.
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• High accuracy with data entry; ten-key by touch. Solid math and general accounting skills.
• Must be available to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
• Prompt regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Demonstrated ability to work:
o Independently and as part of a collaborative team within a fast paced environment.
o Professionally and diplomatically with a wide range of people while under pressure.
o Effectively with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.

Work Schedule:
• This position is based in the corporate office which is located in Seattle, Washington and will require prompt and reliable attendance into the office during core business hours as face time in the office is a key company value. This position will also require some extended hours (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.) in order to meet business needs.

Salary:
• Competitive; depends on experience.
