Description

Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc. is seeking Front-End Developer Interns to assist in the development of our websites and web applications. Our Front-End Developers are primarily responsible for building responsive and ADA compliant web interfaces for our customer facing websites, corporate systems, and email correspondence. In addition to the required technical skills, it is important that our developers be effective communicators and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional project team members. They should be comfortable interacting with internal client representatives, and therefore be able to demonstrate a professional attitude and strong customer service skills.

Positions are open in the following office locations: Madison, WI and Eau Claire, WI.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:

  • Understands the foundational basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript / jQuery and can develop an interactive web page from the ground up.
  • Understands the structure of the DOM and how CSS and JavaScript play a role in the display of the content.
  • Working knowledge of Web Accessibility standards.
  • Genuine interest in front-end technologies and practices.
  • An “eye” for good aesthetic design and a sense for usability.

Desired Skills:

  • Stays up-to-date with the latest standards and best practices in the industry
  • Experience developing responsive websites – experience with responsive frameworks helpful
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS, LESS, Stylus, etc.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, React, etc.
