Job Summary: 

Portfolio management of an assigned territory, primarily California Dairies.  Manages the investigation & decisioning of credit risks involving customers and suppliers, and the collection of amounts due to the organization for goods and services rendered.   Analyzes the company's credit risk exposure in marketing and trading.  Develops procedures and determines needs for the management of the California dairy portfolio.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Manage entire credit review process and monitor counterparty risk across the California Dairy market.
  • Responsible for carrying out the credit policies, which will include updating credit and operating systems, performing credit analysis, following the credit policy, engaging in the collection of delinquent accounts, and various work flow issues.
  • Obtain customer financial data, historical credit information, third party reporting and any other information needed for credit decisioning and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with both credit and commercial team members to oversee A/R Management, Past Dues and Over Credit Limit issues. 
  • Provide timely and informative reporting and analysis to management (i.e. recommended reserves for bad debt and AR aging). 
  • Conduct customer visits, attend industry groups and sales meetings.
  • Collaborate with commercial team members and local bankers to gain counterparty risk insight
  • Responsible for defined collection process in collaboration with Commercial team, making collection calls directly to past due buyers and sending collection letters to minimize potential bad debt losses
  • Responsible for monitoring and follow up of legal process with both internal and external attorneys
  • Interact with counterparties to arrange sufficient collateral as needed.


Other Job Functions:


  • Assist with other projects and duties as needed




  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics required
  • 5+ years of experience in credit or financial risk analysis in commodity and/or financial markets required
  • Experience with local Dairy Industry preferred
  • Ability to effectively work as part of a fast-paced, highly motivated team with strong attention to detail within a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytic, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications)
  • Availability for off-site travel for up to a week in duration



Special Demands:


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
  • Position requires operation of a computer and other standard office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator, computer printer up to 90% of the time
  • Frequently communicates with employees in the office and at remote locations
