Description

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Benefits Division. Duties include reviewing and approving eligibility for non-exempt employee leaves of absence, FMLA, USERRA leave and OJI paperwork. Meets with entry to mid-level management employees on all LOA’s, forwards all paperwork to the Benefits Manager to audit and approve, meets with employees regarding their benefits, COBRA and 401(k) enrollments and loans, and coordinates open enrollments and monthly and quarterly changes for all benefits. Additional duties include working with the Communications Coordinator on notices, mailings and correspondence to be distributed at the direction of the Benefits Manager. Processes all enrollments and COBRA, handles all billings and reconciliations, benefits deductions and audits, resolves any administrative issues with vendors, tracks all part-time and on-call employees in the ACA tracking ensuring notices are sent and database is accurate and up to date, coordinates all workers compensation claims with administrator while following up on claims as needed. Coordinates with department directors, Compensation and management on all return to work and light duty programs, conducts the benefits information portion of new hire orientation ensuring all information is accurate and employees understand their options. Also oversees the maintenance of all benefits files and management reports, serves as a backup for the Benefits Specialist when needed, and analyzes benefits processes, procedures and applicable benefits laws ensuring compliance while adhering to established procedures. Participates in the development or revision of said policies and procedures and attends monthly benefits meetings and negotiations as needed. Performs additional job duties as assigned by the department manager. Starting pay is $27.00/hr.

Requirements

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Associate's Degree in Business or related field is required

Experience & Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of four years working with LOA's workers compensation and monthly billing administration
  • Previous experience with communicating and presenting benefits information to large groups
  • Extensive knowledge in administration of FMLA, ACA, USERRA, ADA, COBRA, HIPPA and ERISA
  • Must have experience using an HRIS system
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
  • Must have exceptional grammar and analytical skills and be able to write at a professional and technical level
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Must have good hand and finger dexterity
  • Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Upon offer must obtain a Class IIIA Gaming License ($273 - 335)
  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays
