Scope of Position:

In the Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) programs at the Excelsior House Site (a 24 hours a day / 7 days a week program) the program coordinator II coordinates and manages the assigned program, ensures compliance with program standards, contracts, policies, procedures and guidelines, and collaborates with other programs to ensure continued success of Crisis Residential program.

Hours / Shifts Needed:

Candidate should be available Monday through Friday. The shifts may include evening and on-call hours.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees day to day functions of the program
  • Forms a highly effective team to accomplish the program’s short and long term goals.
  • Supervises line staff including counselors and care coordinator
  • Assists in scheduling staff for shifts and creating calendar
  • Provides clinical training, guidance, and coaching to staff
  • Assists the program director with managerial duties to include interviewing applicants for employment, assigning and reviewing progress of assignments, conducting performance appraisals, recommending salary increases, and developing higher levels of expertise in staff members by encouraging further education, participation in seminars and providing learning opportunities within the program.
  • Identifies staff and intern training needs and ensures development and implementation of programs that address needs; participates in delivering training sessions to meet the needs of staff related to clinical/program needs.
  • Guides staff and interns in the development of their work plans, their assigned duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority; consults with staff on problems relative to clients.
  • Attends, participates, leads and/or facilitates routinely scheduled meetings as requested or required for the program, division, or Agency.  
  • Monitors and measures client progress against treatment plans and stated goals as it applies.
  • Reviews chart documentation and status reports prepared by therapists to ensure all legal, contractual, and revenue-generating reports meet or exceed required Agency and regulatory agencies’ standards.
  • Ensures client documentation is accurate and submitted within the established timeframe, gathers and analyzes information and prepares routine reports including those used to assess performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Current California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
  • Commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.
  • Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
  • Supervisory skills to manage a small group of professional staff.
  • Personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
  • The skill to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Current knowledge to coordinate treatment planning and case management for assigned clients.
  • Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, DHS, Department of Social Services, CalWORKs and other state, federal regulations relating to outpatient mental health services. For Substance Abuse Programs, working knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to substance abuse services.
  • The ability to support the values and mission of Didi Hirsch as related to employment.
  • Must be willing to undergo training LPS training within 60 days of employment.
  • Depending on program/division, demonstrated knowledge of Evidence Based Practices, Co-Occurring Disorders and/or the Recovery Model of treatment is required.
  • Working knowledge of mental health and/or substance use services coordination and management.
  • Active California licensure as a LCSW, MFT, Psy.D., Ph.D. (licensed) and three plus years of experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness and/or substance abuse in a social service/mental health environment.
  • Candidates must be able to clear all criminal background checks in order to qualify for this position or be in possession of an exemption from the Department of Social Services.

Candidates must be able to successfully pass our pre-employment screenings, including a background check, Live Scan fingerprinting, and Community Care Licensing (CCL) clearance.
