SCOPE OF POSITION We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as the Nursing Director to a team of nurses (LVNs and RNs) located throughout six locations in Los Angeles County. The Nursing Director provides oversight and leadership to the nursing team. ensuring that all services and treatment provided comply with established medical health regulatory Agency requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manages the nursing staff for the Agency; interviews staff applicants for employment; assigns and reviews progress of assignments; manages performance/conducting performance appraisals; recommends salary increases; and develops higher levels of expertise in nursing staff by encouraging further education, participation in seminars and providing learning opportunities in the mental health service arena; coaches and mentors less experienced staff. • Assists with scheduling of nurses to ensure coverage necessary for client needs. • Participates with the Medical Director to develop, recommend, establish and implement medical clinical practice policies and procedures Agency-wide. • Determines needs of Agency staff for psychiatric/medical training and directs and conducts such training as needed; develops/implements training programs to ensure adherence and compliance with established medical health regulatory Agency requirements. • Manages, controls, tracks and dispenses the Agency’s medication inventory, including sample medications. • Functions as the Agency’s key liaison with pharmacy and laboratory vendors; monitors supplies and re-orders supplies as needed • Provides medical consultation in treatment plan meetings with respect to the mental and other medical health treatment plans of clients, as needed. • Provides direct patient care duties to both patients and staff as needed. • Develops and maintains nursing and management skills through participation in continuing education and other programs; maintains current California licensure.



·         Demonstrate a working knowledge of managing medical and psychiatric services for a mental health services Agency.

·         Possess current California licensure as a Registered Nurse.

·         Have a minimum of three years related work experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

·         Demonstrate solid psychiatric diagnostic skills.

·         Effectively communicate with both written and verbal skills.

·         Possess a broad knowledge of current psychopharmacology.

·         Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to respond quickly and professionally in crisis situations.

·         Manage employee performance consistent with defined Didi Hirsch processes.

·         Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.

·         Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and Agency philosophies.

·         Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.

·         Current California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
