Title Volunteer Coordinator

Summary

 

Responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing the program’s volunteers.

 

 

Primary Duties

 

·         Managing the full cycle volunteer onboarding process which includes collecting all necessary onboarding documents and maintaining their volunteer file.

·         Coordinating all facets of the Suicide Prevention Center volunteers’ employee experience. Making sure they are progressing with the program. Being their point of contact for any needs during their volunteer time with the agency.

·         Developing and maintaining the course content including manuals and  handouts for our volunteers.

·         Facilitating the evaluation process of the volunteer and providing feedback on their volunteer performance.

·         Provides technical support to volunteers.

·         Coordinating with the volunteer making sure volunteer is completing 4 CEU’s per year.

·         Maintaining volunteer training related paperwork and volunteer paperwork follow up.

·         Maintains current suicide prevention knowledge and best practices through literature review and attendance of workshops and seminars.

 

The employee in this position will be working varied hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

To perform effectively in this position, the employee in this position is required to have:

 

·         At least 2 years' experience working in a mental health related position including at least 3 years' crisis line experience.  

·         Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention services.

·         Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line services.

·         Availability and flexibility to work various shifts and hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

·         Advanced skills to present ideas, information and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.

·         Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.

·         Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Effectively collaboration and relationship building skills.

·         Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.

·         Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.

·         High School diploma or equivalent.

for this position.
