Summary:

Summary

Responsible for managing the program’s training related activities and providing clinical guidance to the participants and program.

Primary Duties

  • Serve as the lead and main point of contact (for assigned counties) for questions and information related to county and community sponsored trainings.
  • Conduct ASIST training for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within Didi Hirsch training department.
  • Co-facilitate and provide coverage for Survivors after Suicide (SAS) as requested.
  • Coordinate all logistics related to hosting the training for trainers as outlined in the Training for Trainers (T4T) set up template.
  • Provide and disseminate information related to and discuss training for trainers requirements with potential candidates.
  • Work with Living Works (LW) headquarters in coordinating and sharing information related to T4Ts.
  • Promote awareness of trainings throughout designated counties including ASIST T4Ts, safeTALK T4Ts, 2 day ASIST workshops, ½ day safeTALK workshops, suicideTALK presentations.
  • Track dissemination and initiated outreach promoting trainings – including discussions resulting from related outreach.
  • Promote and track community LivingWorks trainings conducted by trainers from county sponsored T4Ts; maintain a current calendar of trainings and update training postings on LivingWorks website calendar (or ensure that trainers do so with the Administration Team).
  • Coordinates and may participate in all suicide prevention training and outreach in Los Angeles County.
  • Maintain database and provide monthly reports.
  • Coordinate volunteers for speaking engagements or health/info tables.
  • Update, maintain and oversee Speakers’ Bureau for suicide prevention requests.
  • Secondary Duties

  • Participate in training or briefings on HIPAA information as scheduled.
  • Consult with supervisor on any issues or questions about compliance under Didi Hirsch’s policies related to state or federal laws such as HIPAA.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Is expected to travel via personal vehicle or public transportation to attend off site meetings or make home visits.

Position Requirements

To perform effectively in this position, the employee in this position is required to have:

  • Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention services.
  • Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line services.
  • Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
  • Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

These requirements are typically met by a combination of education and experience that would include a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of two years of experience working in a mental health related position. Crisis Line experience is a plus. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
