This position is responsible for coordinating and managing one or more program evaluation projects.   The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing program evaluation of targeted programs as well as conducting needs assessments for targeted communities and populations. 



  • Independently design, direct, conduct, and draw conclusions from complex research related to the evaluation of the agency’s clinical and programmatic outcomes.
  • Design and conduct needs assessment for underserved populations; identify regional service gaps.
  • Design evaluation plans including development of evaluation designs, goals and objectives and instruments (e.g. surveys, interview protocols, criterion-referenced tests, etc.)
  • Oversight of clinical outcomes systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative evaluation data.
  • Ensures the high quality of the data, while maintaining the integrity of the data.
  • Consult with program leadership to gather and disseminate data.
  • Facilitate the use of evaluation data in process and program improvement projects.
  • Effectively manage evaluation projects by identifying goals are met, developing implementation plan, developing project timeline, and ensuring project goals are met.
  • Conduct focus groups, observations, and interviews for program evaluation purposes.
  • Create written reports and other documents.
  • Trained program staff on data collection and use of evaluation instruments/measures.
  • Prepare and delivery presentations to a variety of stakeholder groups regarding program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Initiates and maintains effective working relationships with employees and management.
  • Frequent travel between the Agency’s sites may be required

Position Requirements:

To perform effectively in this position, the employee in this position is required to have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of program evaluation in community mental health or similar settings
  • Demonstrated project management skills including planning, developing timelines and implementation of projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing evaluation activities  
  • Working knowledge of data base systems, statistical and data visualization software.
  • Advanced statistical analysis skills and ability to prepare comprehensive reports in various formats.
