Your key duties will include:

·         Counsels and advises supervisors and employees on Agency human resources policy and employment laws.

·         Assists in the resolution of employee complaints; counsels employees on employment related matters.

·         Monitors employee counseling and corrective action activities; counsel’s managers and supervisors in resolving employee performance problems and making staff decisions such as termination of employment.

·         Advises management of major employee problems and Didi Hirsch’s liability, as appropriate.

·         Conducts investigations related to employee complaints/problems and documents these as appropriate

·         Assists with selection and fielding of employee satisfaction and engagement surveys; assists with analysis of survey results.

·         Administers the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Program.

·         Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and identifies trends and concerns.

·         Develops and maintains working knowledge of labor and related laws, industry trends, and effective human resources practices through participation in seminars and classes, membership in professional organizations, reading and contacts in the industry; consults with legal counsel as necessary.  

·         Develops and manages implementation of employee training programs.



Responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled employee relations duties, including affirmative action program and employee advocacy.  The position will interface with employees, government agencies and educational institutions.   


You must be able to successfully pass our pre-employment screening, including a background check and live scan fingerprinting.  For bilingual positions, you will need to pass a language assessment. You will also need to meet the following requirements for this role: 


·         Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field required;   a combination of HR certification, education and work experience equivalent to the degree may be considered.   

·         Minimum of five years employee relations experience, required.

·         A working knowledge of all human resource activities and associated state and federal regulations (e.g. Wage and Hour laws, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Employment regulations, CAL-OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, American with Disabilities Act, FMLA, CFRA, etc.).

·         The ability to implement new human resource programs designed to meet organization objectives (e.g. retention, employee services, etc.)

·         Effective oral and written communications skills sufficient to write comprehensive reports and policies, and to successfully interface with all levels of management and staff.

·         Basic accounting and general math skills sufficient to analyze data, and prepare associated reports.  

·         Personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and HRIS; familiarity with UltiPro is a plus.  

·         The analytical skills, experience and good judgment to make decisions within policies.

·         A commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.

·         Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.

·         Current California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
