Your key duties will include:

·         Managing the full cycle volunteer recruitment process which includes advertising program, sending and reviewing volunteer applications, conducting interviews, maintaining volunteer files and notification of selection or elimination from program.

·         Coordinating all facets of the Suicide Prevention Center training which includes: finding and scheduling speakers; serving as a trainer to volunteers and role-play leaders in the program; and any other related training coordination tasks.

·         Developing and maintaining the course content including manuals, handouts and experiential learning activities.

·         Facilitating the evaluation process of the trainees, participants and speakers; identifying opportunities for changes or improvements based on feedback.

·         Providing technical support to volunteers.

·         Serves as a trainer of ASIST and SafeTalk as needed.

·         Maintains training related paperwork, training statistics, and training related follow-up.

·         Maintains current suicide prevention knowledge and best practices through literature review and attendance of workshops and seminars.

·         Participates in volunteer retention data collection and retention efforts

Responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing the program’s volunteer training related activities. 

 

          

  

Requirements

You must be able to successfully pass our pre-employment screening, including a background check and live scan fingerprinting.  For bilingual positions, you will need to pass a language assessment. You will also need to meet the following requirements for this role:

  • Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention services.
  • Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line services.
  • Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effectively collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
  • Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 

These requirements are typically met by a combination of education and experience that includes at least two years’ experience working in a mental health related position, including at least three years of crisis line or support hotline experience. Previous experience facilitating trainings and working with volunteers preferred.
