Description Job Summary: (including but not limited to the following; other duties may be assigned):

Calpine’s Resource Group helps with the maintenance and development of the Geysers resource field in Northern California. As an integral part of the team that monitors the geothermal resource, the Production Engineer/Wireline Manager will work with the production analysis team to help maximize production at the Geysers by (1) analyzing production and injection data, (2) collaborating with other Resource and Operations professionals to create reservoir management solutions and (3) plan and operate the day-to-day operations of the Wireline Crew to help with resolving production issues and maintaining regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have had experience in field operations as well as data-driven analysis for reservoir and production optimization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide field production engineering support and recommendations to help maximize production and profitability of the Geysers facilities.
• Propose the Wireline Crew work schedule and do daily supervision of the Wireline crew.
• Discusses work programs and execute the program after careful planning.
• Monitors the jobs continuously by on-site participation.
• Troubleshoot various wireline problems and after execute the jobs by following stringent safety regulations.
• Provide support to the field reservoir engineers and recommendations to help maximize production and profitability of the facilities.
• Propose capital projects to annual plan budgets and prepare economic justifications for capital projects and expense modifications.
• Collaborate with members of the Resources team to plan medium and long-term reservoir management strategies, such as optimizing distribution of injected water and production drilling and re-drilling opportunities.
• Acts as lead process design changes to the field while developing contract specifications and bid packages for major purchases. Ensures changes and modifications comply with schedule commitments and budget requirements.
• Maintains comprehensive up to date knowledge of reservoir data and technology and provides technical support and training to the operations and maintenance department on new systems or modifications.
• Performs other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements • Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Engineering: Reservoir/Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred.
• Seasoned professional with advanced applied experience; typically requires 10+ years’ experience.
• Analytical/technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving.
• Geothermal steam field experience is a plus.
• Applies advanced skills within function, but not yet an expert in all.
• Makes recommendations on moderately complex issues regarding project components and tasks.
• May make recommendations on new processes, tools and services; supports and contributes to development of new products, services or techniques.
• Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis. Collaborates with senior professionals in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach.
• Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
• Serves as project/technical lead on small to medium sized projects; may coordinate work of professionals, technicians and others outside of own department.
• Resource integrator – builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to achieve goals. Regularly contributes actionable ideas in brainstorming and planning sessions.
• Provide feedback and remediation on safety for maintenance and operations activities.
