Description Job Summary:

Plans and implements repair outages and overhauls on geothermal steam turbines and auxiliary equipment. Reviews operating status of the units on a periodic basis and track component repairs from a technical and financial standpoint. Develops outage turnaround durations throughout the Calpine geothermal turbine fleet. Develops and maintains specialty tools to reduce outage duration. Assist plants with developing spare part inventories. Additionally, responds to Technical Information Letters (TIL) by reading, creating work orders from and, provide storage location for all TILs. Prepares and maintains job outage and overhaul files and reports. Maintains turbine and component drawings and historical electronic and hard copies. Prepare and administer approved spending for overhaul projects. Work closely with project managers on overhauls and maintain schedules. Retain and generate spare turbine part inventories. Coordinate with the Geysers Turbine Shop on scheduling, and provide them with technical direction. Provide sketches, drawings, and support on projects sent to the shop for manufacturing and fabrication. Monitor millwrights and Calpine’s nightshift support monitor. Hold daily progress report sessions and conduct daily safety meetings. In general, a good working knowledge of steam turbine overhauls, balance of plant work, spend time on turbine deck monitoring contractors, working closely with the turbine shop and demonstrate ASPIRE values and expect the same.

•Solves operational problems and associated technical issues; modifies existing tools, techniques or processes.
•Works on problems of moderate complexity.
•Uses independent judgment within defined policies and practices.
•Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
•May be designated project or technical lead for an ongoing process or short-term project within own department.
Requirements •High School Diploma.
•Journey or mid-level with 15 years of steam turbine maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field.
