Description Job Summary: (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned):

The IT Advisor – Project Management will manage and facilitate multiple projects and process improvement initiatives; engaging business leaders, process owners and teams. Will serve as liaison between managers, and adjudicating disagreements on approach to ensure an integrated focus for the overall project. Responsible for clearly communicating vision for project success and translating the vision into actionable plans. Will ensure linkage of projects to the organization's business plan and challenges management appropriately on project scope. Actively supports project identification and selection process. Will serve as a change agent to drive company culture that instills focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction through the use of Lean Six Sigma and Project Management methodologies. Assist Leadership in identifying and prioritizing projects that will provide optimum benefits to Calpine. Provide training and education to Calpine employees on the principals and techniques of Lean Six Sigma and Project Management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accomplishes work through others. Manages single function or portion of a department with an operational focus.
• Manages employees performing related duties including full human resources, cost and budgetary accountabilities.
• Decisions typically related to resources, project approach, and tactical operations.
• Results have significant impact on costs and the achievement of function objectives or project-based goals.
• Makes decisions for large-scale projects, a closely related set of projects and initiatives involving own and possibly related functional areas.
• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines tactical approach, resources, schedules and goals.
• Works within general guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems for a function.
• Manages a single function or portion of a department. Regularly manages large-scale projects/activities or a very closely related set of projects/activities.
• Responsible for performance reviews, promotional decisions, and pay actions for support and professional levels.
Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business equivalent
• Previous work leadership or senior level contributor experience
• Previous experience with network infrastructure project
• 5+ years direct Project Management experience
• 5+ years direct Six Sigma/Process Improvement experience preferred
• Requires minimum of 10+ years in area of specialization
