Description Ensures all scheduling processes (nominations, confirmations, etc.) are timely and accurate. Creates and maintains daily spreadsheets. Analyzes data, monitors and reconciles imbalances, manages make-up/pay-back schedules with appropriate shippers, and initiates works closely with commercial operations and accounting. Schedules and monitors natural gas transactions on EBBs and within the ETRM system. Schedules gas purchases and sales and records data in Calpine systems to document activity and support profit and loss reporting. Ensures that all trades are in accordance with Calpine risk policies and if not, takes action to resolve. Duties include interpreting and communicating production, consumption and scheduled data and providing daily trading positions; scheduling/routing transactions entered into Calpine systems and validating transactions against pipeline nominations; making economic decisions in routing gas, managing imbalances and assisting in sourcing decisions; and, continually monitor variables and conditions that may impact market conditions and communicate findings. Also performs data reconciliation activity in the ETRM System.

Although the Gas Scheduler may perform some of the following duties at Senior level, expected duties also include nominating and confirming FT, IT and Pools for a variety of pipelines; coordinating and resolving pipeline imbalances, preparing and reviewing a variety of reports including but not limited to margin reports and reports for total nominations and disposition of sales; monitoring systems and boards for rate and fuel changes, assisting with accounting actualization and training staff and third parties on use of EMS.

Requirements • Solid, working knowledge.
• Experienced professional with full understanding of job, company and industry practices.
• Performs in fully-functioning capacity, equivalent to a journey level contributor.
• Makes decisions regarding own work, often in ambiguous situations; makes recommendations regarding own function/discipline.
• Solves operational problems and associated technical issues; modifies existing tools, techniques or processes.

• Uses independent judgment within defined policies and practices. Interprets guidelines, select methods, techniques and analytical approach.
• Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
• May be designated project or technical lead for an ongoing process or short-term project within own department.
