Description This position is in the Calpine’s Outage Services group and report to the Planning & Scheduling Director.
The successful candidate will have the capability to lead most aspects of the Forecasting, Initiation, Planning & Closeout phases of power plant center line rotating equipment outages; including Aero, F & G class Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and their associated Generators. It will be expected that the person will provide leadership in the planning process and also participate as a primary contributor to various group responsibilities.
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to…
• Compile scopes and other outage requirements and ensure they are documented and planned in Maximo.
• Initiate AFE creation and assure funding is available for the planned work
• Follow all purchasing and approval policies to initiate RFQs & Purchase Orders for Outage Services field services and support.
• Build and/or review of detailed schedules for Outage Services responsible scopes
• Travel to site when necessary to lead all types of planning meetings and facilitate the communication of the outage plan to all concerned parties; plant leadership, vendors, and all Outage Service groups.
• Oversee various programs and lead the creation of new programs when needed.
• Track and report quarterly on vendor selection & justifications
• Monitor the Service Requests and ensure their transformation to Work Orders when approved
• Travel to site when necessary to facilitate the post outage meetings
Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in project management or engineering preferred
• Requires 3+ years’ experience
• Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of turbines and generators, group communication skills, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office products, MS Projects, Maximo, SharePoint and PeopleSoft.
• Knowledge or experience in outage and financial forecasting would be a plus.
