JOB PURPOSE:   The Team Member Relations Advisor 2 is the central point of contact for Team Member related issues and concerns for corporate owned and operated locations, including Home Office.  This position provides Team Members with a fair and unbiased process to raise and resolve issues. This position will work in partnership with the organizations leadership to provide guidance and consultation on managing performance and behavior, conflict mediation, investigating and resolving complaints, applying and interpreting company policies and maintaining a positive relationship with and positive environment for our Team Member population. This position will handle escalated employment matters, including heightened Team Member Relations issues, investigation of agency charges or other legal employment matters, and will partner directly with TMS leadership, in-house and outside counsel to respond to and resolve matters.


  • Acts as a subject matter expert for employee-related issues, conducting conversations with Team Members and/or managers to help resolve concerns, address performance issues and work through escalated complaints or issues through providing coaching, mediation, consultation, corrective action and training.
  • Responsible for investigating and resolving Field and Home Office Team Member Relations matters such as allegations of discrimination, harassment and threats and acts of violence.  Gathers detailed, pertinent information by conducting fact-finding interviews and investigations, interpreting the findings, preparing associated documentation, and partnering with leaders and the TMS (Talent Management Services) Business Partner to discuss possible action steps to resolve the issue.
  • Explains and interprets TMS policies and procedures, responds to manager and Team Member questions and concerns regarding same. Provides consultation to managers when needed.
  • Provides advice, guidance and support to management and TMSBPs to efficiently address a wide array of employee conduct and performance-related issues, keeping appropriate parties apprised of the status and associated recommendations, as appropriate. Effectively develop and/or proofread (in partnership with TMSBPs and management) required performance counseling document, as required.
  • Responds to agency claims/charges; works with outside and BWW general counsel in dealing with employment-related escalated matters such as agency charges and attorney demand letters, including: settlement negotiations, mediations, etc.)
  • Utilizes case management system to document notes from cases in a detailed, timely and systematic manner.
  • Provides guidance and consultation for members of the Talent Management Service Center concerning the Team Member Relations intake process.   
  • Participates in the development and facilitation of training on a variety of employee relations topics including performance management, the performance improvement and corrective action processes, harassment, EEO regulations and other related ER topics.
  • Assists in the design, communication and promotion of standardized processes, templates, tools and/or technologies for use in managing employee relations activities, corrective action administration and escalated issue resolution protocols.
  • Recommends, drafts and proofreads TMS related policies and procedures.
  • Represents BWW’s mission and core values in all actions.


  • Assists in analyzing key metrics trends, makes recommendations for additional training or improvement, as requested.
  • Participates in special projects and perform other duties as required.



  • Thorough knowledge of HR, Operations and Home Office policies, systems, procedures, guidelines, and philosophies
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, federal labor and workplace laws

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or at least 4 years of applicable experience
  • 5-8 years of employee relations or other related experience
  • Experience dealing with multi-state employment law.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 4-6 times per year


  • Familiarity with restaurant or retail operations; specifically Buffalo Wild Wings is a plus.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources
