The Creative Services Department is looking for a Graphic Design Intern! This is the perfect position to gain experience at the same time you are attending school!

Overview

This is a part-time internship that is responsible for the creation of designs, ad layouts, and electronic artwork for output of digital and printed materials used in the AG Advertising/Marketing programs as well as other forms of graphic communication in which the Creative Services Department produces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities **Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Design, layout and produce electronic artwork on the Mac system, using desktop publishing software including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other software applications
  2. Gather and review information and all necessary materials to complete assignments
  3. Plan design concepts by studying said information and related materials
  4. Follow detailed instructions and make timely decisions regarding design concepts
  5. Creatively utilize basic design principles, color and font selection to maximize design
  6. Timely designs, produces and submits assigned jobs according to production schedule
  7. Obtains appropriate approval before submitting proofs to client
  8. Prepare and pre-flight electronic press ready files for production according to printer requirements.
  9. Accurately enter any ad changes received from member stores
  10. Assist coworkers with proofreading
  11. Communicate with immediate Supervisor any special request and/or problems from retailers/customers
  12. Perform related tasks as required
  13. Multi-task in a deadline driven fast paced environment

Requirements

Currently in Year 3 or 4 working towards a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

Other Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge and experience with vector drawing and layout programs, preferably InDesign & Illustrator.
  2. Knowledge of CMYK 4-color process printing and spot-color separations.
  3. Ability to mask & color correct photography as necessary
