Set the standard and pace for the development of exemplary curriculum, instruction and assessment resources. Take the lead on developing high quality, coherent resources and guidance for curriculum, instruction and assessment. Take leadership in the development of systems for progress monitoring and for educator training. Collaborate with and contribute to a dynamic Regional Instructional Leadership Team.

Assist the Central Valley Region in developing healthy school communities, equity focused decision making and a culture of “College for Certain” by building parent relationships, community partnerships, and developing aspects student life in accordance with Aspire mission, vision, and value statements including wrap-around-services. Partner with school sites on developing LCAP stakeholder engagement, ELAC meetings, Title I plans, and ASC boards to meet state and federal compliance requirements for stakeholder engagement. Serve on the Central Valley Equity Working Group. Finally, develop and maintain lasting community partnerships in the Central Valley Region.

Develop the regional content strategy for multiple content and/or instructional areas, including:
a. Create a long-term vision and plan for the content areas
b. Collaborate with other Content Specialists as needed to integrate the strategy across content areas
c. Support schools and school leaders in curriculum, instruction, and assessment

Take the lead in the development of coherent resources and guidance for curriculum, instruction and assessment
a. Develop set of criteria and standards for quality C/I/A resources
b. Backwards map curriculum, instruction, assessment from CCSS/NGSS
c. Cohere curriculum, instruction and assessment for teachers across grade levels and courses
d. Align curriculum, instruction and assessment guidance to meet achievement targets
e. Develop “bottom lines” or agreements for all grade levels and content areas
f. Curate and develop materials, including daily lesson plans
g. Develop regional and school systems to support academic RtI

Take the lead in development of systems for progress monitoring
a. Identify regional and school progress monitoring systems, frequency and tools to meet achievement targets
b. Participate in regional and school progress monitoring, data analysis and adjustment of strategy and supports

a. Identify outstanding practices and practitioners in every school
b. Take the initiative to establish collaboration with key practitioners to inform and strengthen approach and quality of CIA materials
c. Participate in Instructional Rounds and analyze data to assess progress across classrooms and schools and adjust materials and training accordingly
d. Provides additional content and CIA support for spotlight school(s)

Family Engagement
a. Design and develop programs and activities to engage families in improving student achievement in collaboration with families, teachers, parent organizations, business-community partners and the principal
b. Develop and implement effective family involvement strategies and activities to empower students and their families
c. Coordinate financial operations related to family engagement, including ensuring revenues and expenditures are properly accounted for, tracked, and communicated
d. Serve as a liaison between school and family in matters related to family concerns, student recruitment/enrollment working with families in related activities, and supporting principals with student recruiting activities
e. Help principals build an effective school community including: working with parents to better support their child/children’s academic, behavioral, and social development with a family-friendly school climate.
f. Help teachers/staff and families develop strong partnerships and enhance communication between parents/families and school staff
g. Participate in and support Aspire Public Schools activities and programs for families

Community Partnerships
a. Garner support from community groups and leaders, developing positive relationships with external partners for schools and the region as a whole and establish relationships with community organizations, resources and lo cal advocacy groups
b. Help recruit partners to become part of the family involvement programs and student support resources
c. Engage with the Central Valley Equity Working group on initiatives involving equity goals.
d. Develop accessible mechanisms for community members to voice questions, concerns, and ideas for how Aspire can better serve them
e. Organize and coordinate community events that further Aspire’s outreach strategy
f. Identify opportunities for engaging and communicating with local community members
g. Serve as point person for fielding and addressing community questions and concerns
h. Support existing and new schools in student and family outreach efforts

Development and Compliance
a. Engage with Wrap-Around-Services at the regional level assisting After School Directors with hiring, training and compliance for the after school programs.
b. Conduct demographic and community analyses and community member interviews to better understand the local communities and provide insight into potential outreach strategy
c. Continue learning more about local community needs and partnership opportunities and helping community members learn about Aspire
Participates as a member of the Regional Instructional Leadership Team
Contribute to development of 3-year Regional Strategic Action Plan, including theory of action and measures of progress
Reports to the Associate Superintendent
Support the mission, vision, core values and equity belief statement of Aspire Public Schools.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements 1) Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
• Demonstrated success and results as an educator
• Demonstrated leadership experience including success in accelerating results and establishing consistent, coherent and effective practices
• Demonstrated ability to develop criteria for quality to increase coherence of resources
• Ability to use end-user perspective in design and prototyping process
• Expertise in elementary and/or secondary Common Core State Standards and/or Next Generation Science Standards
• Knowledge of systems for standards, curriculum, instruction and assessment alignment that result in higher student achievement
• Knowledge of teacher development frameworks and ability to contribute to development of aligned content and systems that accelerate teacher capacity and results
• Knowledge of adult learning and professional development frameworks
• Demonstrated knowledge of the intricacies of instruction-assessment cycle and ability to apply this knowledge to cohesive CIA development
• Ability to manage projects including development, implementation and evaluation
• Ability to communicate proactively, effectively and provide and act on feedback
• Strong problem analysis and problem resolution
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to contribute to a team
• Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships
• Demonstrated P&L responsibility
• Entrepreneurial passion

2) Minimum educational level:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• MA or above suggested

3) Experience required:
• 3+ years as teacher
• 2+ years in a network or leadership role preferred
