Description Develop coherent resources and guidance for math curriculum, instruction and assessment. Develop systems for progress monitoring, educator training. Collaborate with and contribute to a dynamic Regional Instructional Leadership Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop coherent resources and guidance for curriculum, instruction and assessment
a. Backwards map curriculum, instruction, assessment from CCSS/NGSS
b. Cohere curriculum, instruction and assessment for teachers across grade levels and courses
c. Align curriculum, instruction and assessment guidance to meet achievement targets
d. Develop “bottom lines” or agreements for all grade levels and content areas
e. Curate and develop materials, including daily lesson plans
f. Develop regional and school systems to support academic RtI

2. Develop systems for progress monitoring
a. Identify regional and school progress monitoring systems, frequency and tools to meet achievement targets
b. Participate in regional and school progress monitoring, data analysis and adjustment of strategy and supports

3. Educator Training
a. Contribute to development of leader training scope/sequence
b. Contribute to development of teacher training scope/sequence
c. Develop and curate resources, materials and tools for training

4. Collaborate
a. Identify outstanding practices and practitioners in every school
b. Collaborate with key practitioners to inform and strengthen approach and quality of CIA materials
c. Participate in Instructional Rounds and analyze data to assess progress across classrooms and schools and adjust materials and training accordingly

5. Participates as a member of the Regional Instructional Leadership Team
a. Contribute to development of 3-year Regional Strategic Action Plan, including theory of action and measures of progress
b. Participates on the Regional Secondary or Elementary CIA Team

6. Reports to Associate Superintendent or Director.

7. Support the mission, vision, core values and equity belief statement of Aspire Public Schools.

8. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements 1) Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
• Demonstrated success and exceptional results as an educator
• Expertise in secondary math Common Core State Standards
• Ability to design systems for standards, curriculum, instruction and assessment alignment that result in higher student achievement
• Knowledge of teacher development frameworks and ability to contribute to development of aligned content and systems that accelerate teacher capacity and results
• Knowledge of leadership frameworks and ability to contribute to development of aligned content and systems that leverage and align the role of school leaders in instructional improvement
• Knowledge of adult learning and professional development frameworks
• Demonstrated command of the intricacies of instruction-assessment cycle and ability to apply this knowledge to cohesive CIA development
• Demonstrated ability to build adult capacity
• Ability to manage projects including development, implementation and evaluation
• Ability to communicate proactively, effectively and provide and act on feedback
• Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to contribute to and inspire a team
• Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships
• Demonstrated P&L responsibility
• Entrepreneurial passion


2) Minimum educational level:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• MA or above suggested

3) Experience required:
• 3+ years as a math teacher
• 1+ years out of the classroom as a math leader (Coach, Content Specialist, Dean, Assistant Principal, Principal, etc.)
