Description Business Manager is responsible for overall business operations of the school site. Upholds the mission and values established by Aspire Public Schools. Reports to Principal but works closely with all levels within the school and home office as well as with children, parents, and outside consultants/vendors.

School Site Operations
• In administrative/executive capacity, makes decisions regarding general school matters to assist Principal, and manages confidential information appropriately.
• Manages all aspects of the Student Information System and administrative functions ensuring integrity of student demographics, health, scheduling, and academic data.
• Responsible for the custody of student files, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and properly organized.
• Manages all aspects of student enrollment and attendance reporting, maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records.
• Assists Principal in student recruitment activities such as outreach, advertising, and information sessions.
• Oversees and organizes free/reduced lunch program and responsible for reporting.
• Serves as Bookkeeper for school. Collects and processes payments for a variety of events such as lunch deposits, donations, and fundraisers according to Aspire policy and best practices
• Manage vendor relationships such as those with landlord, local fire departments, copier services, and building safety contractors, etc. Ensure all the appropriate contracts have been submitted and approved by Home Office prior to work being performed.
Professional Development, Supervision, and Training
• Manages office and other classified staff, including planning, determining, and distributing work, and manages personnel records of all classified staff under the supervision of the Business Manager.
• Assists Principal in hiring, discipline and performance management/evaluations.
• Trains, develops and appraises non-teaching staff effectively; take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy; consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
• Ensures security of School site office, including handling employees’ complaints and providing for the safety of employees and property.
• Attend all Office Manager Meetings, as well as other relevant Aspire-wide professional development sessions.
• Decides on and controls types of materials/supplies needed by School site office.
Other Administrative Tasks
• Responsible for school administrative functions/tasks as dictated by school site and home office deliverables – works with outside vendors, manages front office, and develops necessary communications internally and externally.
• Researches a variety of topics such as best practices, policies, Education Codes for the purpose of completing school site operational tasks, and providing information or addressing a variety of administrative requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact for internal, external, and Home Office stakeholders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

• Knowledge of Ed Code preferable (or interest in learning)
• Fluency in Spanish - highly desirable

2) Minimum educational level:
• B.A. Degree or equivalent work experience

3) Experience required:
• 6 plus years in fast-paced, ever changing administrative position; experience in a school environment preferable
• Supervisory experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, network printing, copiers and fax machines
