Description

Reports to: Vice President, Commercial Services Administration

Functions Supervised: Loan documentation and servicing

Primary Functions: Supervise administrative support personnel.  Ensure that processes associated with loan systems, reporting and business deposit services are done timely and in compliance with regulations, policies and established procedures. Research and develop non-credit related products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist internal and external members with questions and recommend solutions to problems.
  2. Coordinate testing of system enhancements and new applications to ensure end-user acceptance.
  3. Develop knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  4. Develop policies, procedure manuals and training materials for employees within Business and Commercial Services to ensure consistent service quality. 
  5. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of credit union operations and an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging applications, technologies and best practices.
  6. Prepare and present business proposals for new products and services to achieve operational goals, enhance quality, efficiency, service and control.
  7. Primary contact for third party vendors to find solutions to problems and questions related to loans and deposit systems.
  8. Provide leadership and work direction to staff members in research, analysis, recommendation, and implementation of products and services.
  9. Provide project management for all phases of system development process including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and ongoing support for applications. Activities range from analysis of workflow, system development and quality assurance processes through ongoing application support.
  10. Responsible for overseeing the preparation of the monthly and quarterly loan statistics for the department.
  11. Responsible for the integrity of the loans booked in the core system.
  12. Designated as the Records Retention Coordinator.
  13. Continually review federal, state and local laws and regulatory requirements relating to business lending and deposit services.
  14. Train new employees and coordinate cross-training activities.
  15. Back up for the Compliance and Quality Review Officer.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, with emphasis on banking and finance.

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Five years experience in an area of financial institution operations or administration, of which three years should be in a comparable management position.  

Experience/Skills: Thorough understanding of business lending and deposit regulations, loan processing and the lending systems. Must have the ability to interpret, analyze and assist in the implementation of regulations and procedural updates.  Must have strong communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.  Ability to present information orally to management and employees in an effective and positive manner.  Able to prioritize own work and work of staff and able to work independently.  Ability to motivate and direct staff. Good knowledge of supervisory practices. Strong internal and external member service skills.
